Caltrain San Francisco Bridges2016-12-12T12:48:24-08:00

Project Description

Project Description:

This project includes the removal and replacement of existing vehicular/pedestrian bridges over the Caltrain tracks at 22nd Street, 23rd Street and Paul Avenue in San Francisco. Existing abutments will also be retrofitted to support the new structure. Utilities supported by the bridges will be temporarily relocated during bridge removal and construction. In addition to the replacement of the three bridges, the capital program includes the San Mateo Bridges Replacement Project (including the upgrade of a 400-year-old bridges to increase vehicle clearances on city streets and meet current seismic safety standards) and the Quint Street Project (including replacement of the existing Quint Street Bridge with a new berm structure that will allow for a potential Caltrain station in the future).

OrgMetrics developed the partnering program and led bi-monthly executive team and core project team sessions. Partnering participants included Peninsula Corridor Joint Powers Board (owner); Disney Construction (contractor for the 22nd Street, 23rd Street and Paul Avenue projects); Shimmick Construction Company (contractor for the Quint Street Project); and ProVen Management (contractor for the Jerrold Avenue North Span Removal). Special sessions were also facilitated with the Caltrain operator, TransAmerica Services, to coordinate safety associated with working along an operating railroad line. Other key issues included coordination of underground utilities with the San Francisco Water Department, Pacific Gas and Electric, and AT&T.
