Collaborative Partnering – The Fuel for Successful Design-Build

San Francisco International Airport (SFO) has embarked on a $6B construction program using progressive design-build. They require Structured Collaborative Partnering on every project.  Collaborative partnering works to help create a culture of collaboration and holds everyone accountable to those norms.  SFO is achieving extraordinary results in the range of 10% – 30% cost savings.  But they warn that Progressive Design-Build should not be attempted without a culture of collaboration.
