SFO Z1 Blast Fence and Taxi Lanes2016-06-22T15:43:39-07:00

Project Description

Project Description:

This was a small ($3.6M), but complex project involving the installation of an airfield blast fence and the resurfacing and re-routing of Airport Taxi lanes in the north end of the San Francisco International Airport Airfield.  This project team piloted the OrgMetrics Small Project PartneringTM Process, where team members participated in the kick-off and follow-up partnering sessions remotely and yet achieved an award-winning result!  In this project, roughly $2M of the installed cost took place in 30 days while the airfield was active.  The taxi lane work was directly in the path of the SFO Fire Department’s (SFFD) access to the airfield, so the project team worked closely with SFO Operations and the SFFD to ensure that no disruptions took place.  During the project, the team added scope and completed within contingency and on time.
