FUN QUESTIONS:
What gives you the most satisfaction in your work?

I love working with teams who are committed to each other and willing to learn and grow together. We chose construction for our profession, and with this choice we signed up to be problem solvers. Our work requires us to look at imperfect situations and create solutions that work –technically, politically and financially. Getting to solutions is sometimes messy and uncomfortable work. Helping teams understand each other and build trust to the point where instead of finding fault they immediately ask “what can we do to fix it?” brings me great joy and satisfaction.

What is the favorite project you have worked on and why?

I have too many favorites to name one team! However, I’ve noticed my favorites have several things in common.  First, they have adopted a culture of collaboration – perhaps after working through significant resistance.  Second, they are ALL IN.  The “project first” attitude is prevalent.  Third, the camaraderie oozes out when they are together.  They like each other, trust one another, and have fun even when they’re solving tough problems.  They align against the issues instead of each other.  In short, my favorite projects have highly functioning teams in high-trust environments.  They get stuff done!!

If you could travel anywhere, right now, where would you go?

Tahiti would be my go-to destination.  I took a cruise in French Polynesia in 2018.  Before going, I thought of it as a trip of a lifetime.  After returning home, I realized it is too fabulous to limit to only once!  Let’s start with the stunning views, rugged rock formations softened by tropical forests, sparkling beaches, and gem colored water.  Add in the incredible hospitality of the residents and it’s a WIN-WIN-WIN!

Go-tos

Beaches

…But I’m so fair that I also need a tree or umbrella for shade. Then add a margarita to quench my thirst!

Family & Friends

I’m blessed with a loving and supportive circle of family and friends – I feel so lucky!

Dark Chocolate

Milk chocolate is never worth the calories, and is white chocolate even chocolate?!

Crafting

I started sewing in grade school, and it has remained a creative outlet throughout my life.
