Founder, Partnering Facilitator
Sue Dyer founded OrgMetrics LLC in 1986 as a partnering facilitation firm dedicated to helping construction organizations and project teams develop collaborative cultures. Sue has become the thought leader on collaboration in construction and is the host of Lead With Trust For Construction Leaders podcast.
In the early 1980’s Sue was the Executive Director of what is today the United Contractors Association. In that role she was the first woman in the U.S. to head up a major collective bargaining unit for the construction industry and negotiated with all of the construction crafts. She developed her non-adversarial approach while at United Contractors and took it out into the industry to confirm that it also worked for other organizations and projects.
Sue has worked for almost 30 years to perfect the model for Momentum Partnering. In 2009 Sue founded the International Partnering Institute; the industry’s only non-profit focused on researching and sharing best practices for construction Partnering. In 2020, Sue launched Sudyco LLC to focus on bringing the models and lessons learned from the construction industry to build trust for businesses, organizations, and initiatives to improve outcomes.
I am inspired by every project team I work with. The level of dedication it takes to pursue a project to its completion is a beautiful thing to watch. These teams literally build what forms our society!!
When someone has a “light bulb” moment and they suddenly see things for a new perspective and can see a different path to success, or to resolving an issue, or working together.
Anything Jane Austen. I love all the version of Pride and Prejudice, Sense and Sensibility, and Emma, the most.
I love volunteering for the International Partnering Institute and sharing what I’ve learned working in construction for the past 40+ years.
OrgMetrics is home to me. The foundation of all of the extraordinary people, and projects, I’ve had the privilege to work with fills me to so much gratitude. I just love the people who work in construction. My original dream was for OrgMetrics to live on for at least 100 years.
I am a creative person and writing has become my creative outlet. I love sharing ideas, challenging perspectives, learning from other people’s experiences and sharing all of these with the A/E/C industry.
Being a grandparent was something I never imagined would be so wonderful. My three grandsons are almost grown now, but they still are so exciting to watch as they go to college and decide their futures.
