READ THE LATEST ORGMETRICS NEWSLETTER: How To Predict Project Team Success

In this season of gratitude, I had the good fortune to be copied on an email sent by an owner representative to the contractor’s project executive.

Please see below for inspiration! I’ve sanitized the email a bit for privacy [text in brackets] and highlighted the reasons why it is a great example of an acknowledgement.

To recap the points in the graphic above, for a great acknowledgment, follow these tips:

Personalize It: Address the note or email to a specific person, by name, in recognition of his/her team members and also name the team.

Be Timely: Send acknowledgment close to the date of the action, lending credibility to the appreciation behind the acknowledgement.

Be Specific: Detail aspects about the execution that made it noteworthy and respected.

Show Gratitude: A thank you is a critical part of an acknowledgement.

Bonus: Provide encouragement to keep going that makes it clear that you (and your team, if applicable) are also invested in project success!

It’s nearly Thanksgiving.  Be inspired by the great leader above ane apprecate your teams with memorable acknowledgements!

Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!
