Project Description

The Los Angeles Unified School District South Region 7 Elementary School was a $19M construction project delivering a K-5 elementary school for 650 students in South Central Los Angeles. The project was completed more than $4M under budget and twelve days early. The team was innovative in its use of BIM Revit model for clash detection. The team overcame several challenges including a sixty-day delay to NTP due to an environmental cleanup. Rather than sit aside and wait, the team re-sequenced the work and identified utility relocations and other key areas of work to ensure the schedule was updated. The result was that the team was ahead of schedule by the time the Phase II NTP hit. This team received a 2013 IPI Ruby Level Partnered Project of the Year Award for its outstanding collaborative effort.
