Project Description

The East Washington Park Fields Project is a 24-acre multi-sport recreation area funded by the City of Petaluma, resulting from more than 10 years of planning and fundraising by Petaluma residents. Right from the start, the project team discovered that the topographical elevations in the design were one to two feet different than initially thought, and the team, comprised of 10 subcontractors, used partnering to develop goals and strategies around the challenges. Ultimately, the City of Petaluma was able to secure additional funding to add a 3rd soccer field, and the entire complex was opened to the public 7 days early and within budget. This project received a Sapphire Level 2016 IPI Partnered Project of the Year Award.
